Welcome to The Tack House. By using our website, marketplace, or services (buying, selling, consigning, donating, browsing, or enthusiastically window-shopping), you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

If you don’t agree, that’s okay, but you’ll need to step out of the arena.

About The Tack House

The Tack House is an Ontario-based equestrian marketplace that connects buyers, sellers, consignors, and donors of new and pre-loved equestrian tack and apparel. We also support community initiatives, scholarships, and equine research through a portion of proceeds.

We’re proud to be Canadian and Ontario law applies here.

Eligibility

To use The Tack House:

• You must be at least 18 years old
• You must be legally able to enter into binding agreements
• You must provide accurate, truthful information

No funny business. No fake identities. No imaginary horses.

Accounts & Accuracy

If you create an account or submit information:

• You’re responsible for keeping your details up to date
• You’re responsible for any activity under your account
• Let us know immediately if something looks off
  
  

Buying on The Tack House

When you purchase an item:

• You agree to pay the listed price plus applicable taxes and shipping
• Item descriptions are provided by sellers or by us for consignments
• All sales are final unless otherwise stated

We do our best to describe items accurately, but used tack may show normal wear -that’s part of its charm.

Selling & Consigning

For Sellers:

• You confirm you own the item and have the right to sell it
• Items must be legal, safe, and accurately described
• You are responsible for the accuracy of your listing
  
  

For Consignors:

• Consignment fees, pricing, and scheduled price drops will be clearly outlined
• Prices may reduce over time according to the consignment structure
• Unsold items may be returned or handled per the consignment agreement

We reserve the right to refuse or remove listings at our discretion.

Donations

For donated items:

• You confirm you have the right to donate the item
• Donated items may be sold with proceeds going toward designated causes
• Donations are voluntary and non-refundable

We’re grateful for every donated piece -truly.

Payments & Fees

• Payments are processed through secure third-party providers
• The Tack House retains its stated percentage of each sale
• Applicable taxes are charged according to Ontario and Canadian law
  
  

Shipping & Delivery

• Shipping timelines may vary by seller, consignor, or item type
• The Tack House is not responsible for delays or loss caused by carriers, weather, or acts of the horse gods
• Risk of loss generally passes at shipment unless otherwise required by law
  
  

Intellectual Property

All content on this site — including text, logos, images, and branding — belongs to The Tack House or is used with permission.

Please don’t copy, reuse, or repurpose without written consent. Flattery is nice; copyright infringement is not.

Prohibited Behaviour

You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or offensive content
• Attempt to manipulate pricing or transactions
• Interfere with site security or functionality
• Use the platform for unlawful purposes

We reserve the right to remove users who don’t play nicely.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The Tack House is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service
• Use of the site is at your own risk

This does not affect your statutory consumer rights under Ontario or Canadian law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Tack House from any claims, losses, or damages arising from:

• Your use of the site
• Your listings or transactions

We may suspend or terminate access to the site at any time if these Terms are violated. No drama — just enforcement.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
